AVID
CHHS AVID is a four-year commitment. Each year emphasizes developmental instruction to preparing students for academic success and college acceptance.
- 9th- High school adjustment and goal setting/four-year plan/note taking/tutorials/public speaking
- 10th- Major and career exploration
- 11th- Exploring university pathways and refining college options
- 12th- University admission process/Life skills
AVID students are supported by a Site Team consisting of a coordinator, administrator, a counselor, AVID elective teachers, subject area teachers, college tutors. All trained in AVID methodologies and strategies that serve a vital resource within the AVID elective class.
